"Тысячи поклонников группы “Beatles” пришли в субботу на пешеходный переход на улице Abbey Road. Ровно 40 лет назад здесь была сделана знаменитая фотография, ставшая обложкой одного из самых выдающихся альбомов современной рок-музыки “Abbey Road”. Многочисленные поклонники “ливерпульской четверки” из разных стран в костюмах, как у их кумиров 40 лет назад, приехали в Лондон специально, чтобы пересечь самую известную “зебру” в мире.

"Arriving in an exact replica of John Lennon’s psychedelic Rolls Royce, the Beatles tribute group, Sergeant Pepper’s Only Dart Board Band re-enacted a moment of pop history outside the Abbey Road studios in London’s St John’s Wood.
Thousands of Beatles fans packed the leafy suburb, to mark 40 years since John, Paul, George, and Ringo strode across a zebra crossing to create an iconic album cover.
The original photo shoot lasted just a few minutes.
Only six pictures were taken in all. Since then, millions of people have posed on the crossing in imitation of the Fab Four.
The album cover has been the subject of a bizarre conspiracy theory. Paul McCartney, who appears barefoot and out of step with the other Beatles was at one stage rumoured to have died, prompting him – at a later date – to release a concert album called “Paul Is Live”."
